    Individual Counselling

I provide individual counselling for youth and adults by meeting each person with warmth, compassion, and genuine curiosity. Whether you're navigating a period of crisis, coping with life's challenges, healing from trauma or abuse, or simply feeling stuck, counselling offers a safe and supportive space to explore your experiences, make sense of your emotions, and reconnect with your strengths and inner resilience. Grounded in a person-centered approach, I draw from narrative, emotion-focused, and existential therapies to support clients in discovering their own capacity for healing and growth. I work with youth facing challenges such as divorce transitions, bullying, difficulty making friends, and self-harm, helping them better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and move toward greater confidence, resilience, and well-being.

    Family Therapy

I provide family therapy  to help families better understand and navigate the challenges in their relationships and daily functioning. This includes support for blended families, families adjusting after separation or divorce, and those experiencing ongoing conflict, life transitions, or communication breakdowns.

In our work together, we explore the patterns and unspoken rules that shape how family members relate to each other. Often, when one person is in pain, others respond in ways that, though well-meaning, can unintentionally keep the family stuck. Every family brings a unique history shaped by shared beliefs, experiences, and interpretations that influence how members interact. In therapy, we work collaboratively to improve communication, manage conflict in healthy ways, and support your family through transitions or stressors. The goal is to build stronger, resilient, and more connected relationships where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported.

    Areas of Focus

    • Improving communication and listening skills

    • Navigating conflict in healthy, respectful ways

    • Supporting blended families in adjusting to new roles and relationships

    • Managing stress related to school, work, or extended family

    • Understanding and shifting unhelpful family patterns

    • Healing from past trauma or unresolved family conflict

    Filial Therapy (Child-Parent Relationship Therapy)

Filial Therapy is an attachment-based form of family therapy that strengthens the parent-child relationship to support healing, growth, and connection. Rather than focusing solely on problems or behaviours, it nurtures the relationship that helps children and families thrive. Parents become the primary agents of change as they learn new ways of connecting with and understanding their child.

In Filial Therapy, I teach, coach, and support parents in conducting special play sessions with their own children. Parents then carry these skills into play sessions at home while receiving ongoing coaching and support throughout the process. As needed, additional parenting and behaviour management strategies may also be explored to help families navigate specific challenges. Through this process, parents learn to recognize what their child may be communicating through play, because when we understand a child's play, we gain a deeper understanding of their inner world.

Filial Therapy is not a "quick fix." It is an evidence-based, relationship-focused approach that deepens the attachment bond between parent and child, creating meaningful and lasting change. Filial Therapy helps children reduce emotional and behavioural difficulties, develop healthy coping strategies, and build confidence and self-worth. Parents rediscover the joy of parenting, become more confident in their parenting, gain a deeper understanding of their child's emotional needs, and experience greater warmth, trust, and connection within the family.
